SHE BOUGHT THE STUDIO ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”

Reese Witherspoon 2012 pitched female-driven film to every studio. All rejectedโ€””Women don’t lead blockbusters.” Studio executives laughed her out. Instead of giving up, Reese started own production company, used personal $20 million. Produced “Gone Girl,” “Wild,” “Big Little Lies.” Made billions. Bought out one of studios that rejected her. First meeting as owner, sat at head of table: “Remember when you said women don’t lead? I do.” Changed Hollywood. Rejection fuels empires. Comment if this inspired.

    1. She wasnโ€™t the lead in the movie. Ben Afleck was. And theyโ€™re right, movies with a female leads are terrible movies. Same as if a minority is the lead, itโ€™s a terrible movie.
