This song perfectly captures how depression and anxiety can ruin your ability to fully be in a relationship. No matter how deeply someone loves you, their love alone can’t fix the emptiness and pain inside. She even says Louis “sucked out toxins,” showing that he tried to help and heal her, but his love still wasn’t enough to cure what she was feeling internally.
