Sarah Michelle Gellar paid a sweet tribute to her Buffy the Vampire Slayer costar Anthony Head after his daughters confirmed he’d died from complications of pneumonia at the age of 72. “’Tell Giles I figured it out and I’m ok,’” Gellar began in her June 5 post on Instagram. “Well I don’t have it figured out and I’m not ok.” The 49-year-old continued, “But I know I’m the lucky one because I knew you. Thank you to Daisy and Emily who not only shared their dad with me, but with the world.” Head starred alongside Gellar on Buffy from 1997 to 2003. This is so sad. So many great actors and people are passing on.. Getting older is painful, you watch all the people that made your youth and life memorable move on from earth.
This is wretched. I lost both my parents at 71 and 72, recently. It's just super painful to lose them still relatively young. I was caregiving my mum for a long time with stroke as well. May Anthony's memory be a blessing. He certainly is to me.
His long term partner died last year unexpectedly so probably a broken hear.
He helped save the world. A lot.

Sometimes an actor, or other celebrity, passes away and although it's sad it doesn't leave a massive impact on you but then other times someone passes who you never met but was a massive part of your childhood and Anthony head was definitely the latter for me, R.I.P loyal watcher

Oh my goodness, not Giles RIP to the man that played Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also, it’s a little crazy that 3 people from Buffy passed away. if another one passes, they will call it a curse on the cast
First memory of him was in a coffee advert for Nescafe Gold Blend… many years ago. I didn't really watch Buffy that much but I do remember him as Uther Pendragon in the BBC series of Merlin.

As someone whose teens and early twenties were spent adoring Buffy and Giles was one of ofnmy favourite people, I genuinely started crying while driving yesterday when I heard the news. Anthony Head was an actor I always admired and thought of fondly, despite never meeting the man in real life. Condolences to his family, he will be missed 🥺💔
