I kinda get what he means, I do an "american" accent all the time. i get made fun of because im not only a redneck, but a hillbilly. both Appalachian terms but the accents are different. from different mountain regions, working class and elevations. so I speak "american" in public. no discerning accent just american. and weirdly, very comfortable to do
Tom Holland is such a delight. But I must say he has never sounded "full New York Queens". None of the kids and Spider-Man ever sound like they're from New York.
This movie isn’t even out yet and it’s a shit show. Probably the first bad movie Nolan has ever made. How do you make something in 2026 that’s so tied to Greek culture and have zero freaking Greek casting? No one part Greek or from the area, just nothing at all not to mention none of the casts look or embody the characters they are playing.
British accents are hard too, it’s so easy to be so heavy handed with them and miss little nuances and sound exactly like some American doing an English accent
