What is with these male artist wearing vests as a fashion piece everywhere? During the tour is kinda understandable but everywhere ? It is kinda corny.

I love how people here continuously act so shocked by how popular and successful he is

Well, it’s good his music career is working out for him, because dude can sure as fuck not act to save his life.

He makes great music but I find it hard to take him seriously after the Idol show

If artists are making $300m from a single tour then ticket prices are way too fucking high. But that’s Capitalism or whatever…

Blinding lights is the number 1 streamed song of all time, his music is still on the radio non stop and people in the comments here are acting like it’s the most outlandish thing ever he’s number one.
As a huge fan I feel I’m in enemy territory lol. I’m a zillennial and have been listening to him since high school, seen him 3x live. He consistently makes compelling, interesting music, live vocals are incredible, and has a ton of appeal. The Idol was weird and tried to hard to be edgy (I just chose not to watch it) but his personal life has been unproblematic. Tours make money and his fans are willing to shell out. The fandom is a bit Swiftian in their devotion and now are a bit older with deeper pockets. Unsurprising to me.
ETA if you read this far After Hours is probably my favorite album of his, just try it!! You might like it!

His songs hit a certain sweet spot between stadium hits, kids music, department store songs, adult contemporary, and nightclub songs. Every type of playlist can include his music and that makes his streaming numbers huge.

We need to close the disparity gap. How much these people make compared to people who cannot afford food is absolutely criminal.

I wish I could listen to Dawn FM for the first time again. He remains an interesting figure in pop culture and I trust him to put out quality work.

He deserves it bec He does great charity work. He gave 8 million dollars of his tour revenue to charity last year alone. He’s given money to Palestinian aid,Sudan, BLM, Jamaica during the hurricanes last year, Toronto public library, Toronto covid relief. And he gives consistently to the boys and girls club of Scarborough which were he is from. And for the past 5 years he has been working regularly with world food program.

People really, *really* need to learn how discern between an actor playing a role and the character being portrayed.
Why am I seeing so many people who dislike this news because they think he’s “creepy” for playing a shitty person in a *television show*?

how “highest paid” is measured is fascinating
Why?
I find him irredeemably creepy
