The Fake Pirates Blooper Everyone Believed 🏴‍☠️ #piratesofthecaribbean #jacksparrow #shorts

If you’ve been on movie trivia pages lately, you’ve definitely come across this clip from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). The internet loves to claim that during Elizabeth Swann’s rescue scene, the actors playing the redcoat soldiers accidentally ripped off Johnny Depp’s wig, leading to a hilarious unscripted moment where Angus Barnett starts wiping Keira Knightley’s face with it.

Except… that’s completely false. If you look closely at Johnny Depp, his iconic dark dreadlocks and bandanna don’t move an inch. The crew was filming a cold, wet scene, and the white object is just a standard prop rag used to dry the actors off between takes. Barnett was simply joking around to break the tension, and the internet ran wild with the wig theory.
Did you fall for this movie myth, or did you notice Jack’s hair was perfectly fine? Let me know in the comments!
