    1. Janet is a terf. Fuck him. Hugh is amazing though. Imagine complaining about a procedural being a procedural

I actually miss when TV shows were TV shows and not a movie idea needlessly stretched to 8 episodes by adding awful filler.

Honestly wtf do people expect from medical procedurals?

It’s tv, it can’t just all go according to plan

She’s not wrong and he’s frankly coming off as way too defensive. You don’t have to be a novelist in order to be critical of something. And the ‘well if you don’t like it it wasn’t meant for you!’ is a line I’d expect to hear from a sixteen year old defending their House MD Supernatural Crossover fanfiction, not a successful actor.

House MD was no Frida Kahlo or Bach composition, ffs. Scrubs was a contemporary and even it wasn’t as formulaic as House was.

    5. Funny response, but House was still a highly formularic show. I guess it only became really clear just how formularic once you try to bingewatch it in the streaming era.

I mean it’s dumb as hell to respond to criticism of a show that’s 22 years old, bit of an overreaction

This is actually hilarious to me, as every network show follows a formula, especially procedurals. I mean, what else would you be expecting from House? 😭

Honestly, I’m not mad at that.

I’m not mad at that at all. Some criticism is stupid and it should be said. House was a procedural. That’s what procedurals were.

And it was a great one at that.

    9. I don’t know man.

She is not wrong? Especially in the early seasons the formula is the same each episode. There are more writing options than “Solving the case right at the start” and the classic House MD formula she stated. Which makes his counter-argument to the criticism simply wrong.

It feels like the same ill thing that offended comedians like to do, use their quick wit to mock the criticism and the person in a funny way so that no one realizes that the response had nothing to do with the criticism in the first place. But now the social media mob thinks the comedian is correct and now attacks a perfectly fine criticism. Hugh Laurie should both know better responses and should know what an answer like this does for the mob.

But i also didn’t expect any better from the voice of Dumbledore.
