How this is innocuous comment by someone who didn’t even realise they were on air getting so much attention jfc

Not a great look for the host and kind of mean, but at the end of the day this isn’t a scandal. There are a lot of people who jumped on the Knicks bandwagon when they got into the finals.

Monica is actually one of very few people on earth who can tell me the level of authenticity of any Knicks fan including myself and I just have to accept it as the truth

We all know Taylor would go to the opening of an envelope if it meant she can act a fool and get some camera time

Monica McNutt is a phenomenal sports reporter and THE commentator FOR the Knicks. She travels with the team, she has been with them through everything in recent years. Monica has a cutting sense of humor and brash commentary. Keeps it 💯always – says this kind of shit about courtside folk, other reporters (Stephen A Smith aghem).

MONICA is at all of the games. She can tell you who’s at MSG consistently. Probably doesn’t keep up with TSwift’s private fandom. But anyone could tell you Taylor was also courtside this playoffs… oh right for the Cavs. Yes it’s her boyfriends team, doesn’t mean she’s a “fan” of them. Just saying… Swift hasn’t been in the stands for the Knicks in some time. And in a season where us lifelong Knicks fans are seeing lots of folks come out the woodwork – yeah, sorry if there’s a lil chip on the shoulder.

Monica meant no ill will. She talks shit sometimes. Welcome to the Knicks.

How about Selena’s deleted post seemingly shading her bff’s conveniently renewed fandom??

Accusing people of being a “fake fan” really does not give you anything, except maybe the ire of a fanbase.

As a life long spurs fan (raised in San Antonio)…bandwagon fans during playoff season for any sports season suck.

I know I’m the VILLIAN right now but go get married or something and give the seat to someone who knows who Mike Brown is Taylor.

(I can also admit that if the Knicks win they deserve it).

The dude who can’t figure out if it’s Taylor is sending me. Squinting and leaning and still unsure. This hurts a spotlight seeking celeb’s feelings more than anything.

I mean in this woman’s defense, wasn’t Taylor just at the Knicks v Cavaliers game a few weeks ago with her fiancée who is a known Cavs fan? I mean you can’t really blame the woman for calling her out. Without doing the research to see Taylor’s been a casual Knicks “fan”, one would assume she’s not lol.

Though all in all, she probably was just there for the coverage and for the attention, just like a lot of other people.

    10. People only have to pretend to clutch their pearls because her stans are insane.

She’s a fake fan. I don’t even watch basketball and I could tell.

    11. I’m not one to call someone a fake fan, because I also am suddenly a Knicks fan.

However I did find it funny seeing photos of Timothee actually looking stressed af during the game and then seeing videos of Taylor like “🤪🥳🤪” during the game.

Monica you are right and I’m sending you my strongest prayers against the Swifties

Even is she wasn’t a fan, people are allowed to enjoy new things. Or attend events with people who are fans.

I mean…. Monica is right so Imma defend her.

If Taylor can tell me some facts then its fine. But people take offense to being a bandwagon

    15. AlternativeResort477 on

Taylor was literally in Cleveland with Travis cheering AGAINST the Knicks a week ago lol

Also I’m a fan of Haim but they are born and raised LA girls I doubt their fandom as well

Shes right and this shouldn’t be controversial. The Knicks have a ton of bandwagon fans rn.

I went through the stories on my Instagram this morning and was confused on when everyone and their mother suddenly became die hard fans

I mean I’m sure she’s not wrong, but this is the case with so many people who all of a sudden pop up at games for different sports when a team is winning. tbf I call those people out to their faces if they act like they’re lifelong fans, so the fact that she said it despite not knowing that she’s still on mic, doesn’t bother me at all. not like she announced it to everyone and threw tomatoes at swift

I do think it’s completely fine to want to experience something like this, nad jump on the bandwagon, it only bothers me slightly when all of a sudden someone starts proclaiming theyir great love for something when there’s been no prior affiliation

    18. Worth_Lavishness_239 on

I don’t care if she’s right. That’s mean girl behaviour. People are allowed to enjoy things.

    19. I mean, she is a fake fan. And sorry to be a hater but her and the Haims were insufferable courtside.

    20. RoseColoredMasses on

there are a lot of bandwagon fans but honestly when I lived in philly when they won the super bowl the first time I became a bandwagon fan. It was amazing to see the city have such fun energy and my friends coworkers etc were SO happy. it felt like everyone was happy and on the same page and who doesn’t love that.

    21. Taylor Swift’s latest crime: Attending a basketball game

When will she be stopped? When will this national nightmare end?
