Many similarities between these two who make art that is very personal at times and yet reached crazy levels of commercial success. To think they said its going to be Sombr lol

Some of Spielbergs words on Taylor:

“A woman who has no peers when it comes to shattering records as a writer, singer and storyteller, a singular artist and a genuine phenomenon”

“Taylor is someone who embraces artistic risk, who trusts us with her memories, grudges, thoughts, secrets, fears and dreams. Through her songs she has taken billions of people by the hand and by the heart and reaches across the footlights to them with a message that is rooted in community and enthused with hope and relatability.”

“Thank you Taylor for the gift of your stories and for insisting on being an authentic voice in a world where the line between real and fake is increasingly blurred.”

Awww, this is really sweet. And I think they’re somewhat similar in terms of making art that is most times deeply personal and yet also commercially successful, so I understand

Is it me or is it kind of a bummer that she didn’t pick a woman to induct her? She always talks about championing women in the industry and I just feel like this is such an odd choice, especially with the weird promo of his movie thrown in there.

    5. She’s, at times, is just so over-the-top performative and I don’t think anyone is around her that could tell her to “tone it down a bit”.
