> “Obviously, I’d love if there was a ‘Ratatouille’ sequel,” Oswalt said on The Daily Beast’s “Obsessed” podcast, although he stressed that a follow-up movie depends entirely on original director Brad Bird returning with a great idea.
> “There was never gonna be an ‘Incredibles’ sequel until he thought, ‘Wait a minute. There is a story to tell,’“ Oswalt said of the filmmaker. “So if he gets an idea, that’s the one I wanna do. I don’t wanna be the guy going, ‘Hey, what if Remy did this?’ I want it to be one of those ideas that happens that you cannot get away from. I don’t want it to come from us going, ‘All right, let’s get out the legal pads and let’s break down a sequel.’ There are a lot of movies where that’s how they’re done, and it always feels inorganic.”

Josh O’Connor, call Patton and discuss a team effort.
Eight minutes of straight improv is so impressive. He’s clearly put a lot of thought into this.

No. We don’t need it, I don’t want it. It’s a perfect movie with an excellent narrative. Let it stand on its own and make something else that is compelling and interesting.

If the upcoming cat movie, Gatto, does well, I think it is high time we seriously consider the first Pixar Cinematic Universe Experience.
We bring back the gang from Hoppers, the crew from Finding Nemo/Dory, Dug and Kevin from Up, and Dante from Coco, along with those A Bug’s Life rapscallions.
What is the plot? No clue. Why are they together? Idk. Someone/something that shouldn’t have feelings gets feelings. What brings them together? The Walle E Protocol? Are they trying to build a road over a habitat in Cars 37? Is there a Bad Dinosaur? They can work it out in Burbank.
It’s my favorite non Toy Story pixar film of all time… But there’s no need for a Ratatoullie sequel the way the Incredibles always had the opportunity for. Where else could the story go? Maybe some nice 30 minute special like Toy Story gets every once in a while. But not a whole movie. Besides, a few key cast members are gone.

Rats only live a couple of years tops so the sequel would have to be set really soon after the original film.
