I am atheist so one might say I will find it stupid but in reality its nothing peculiar. People explore small caves, deliberately challenge them to do life threatening adventure. If these people are enjoying living like this without harming others, we shouldn't judge them. Let them do what they want to do and enjoy doing. However, will they see god by showing such devotion, of course not. Yeah after death, they might see god.
