From a media/advertising background: this ad is great. It doesn’t lean into what you are missing, it’s celebrating the day you haven’t lived without. Well done.

Fuck yeah.
As an aside, I’ve been vegan for 14 years. Happy to give anyone curious about being more plant-based any tips, recipes, or advice. 🌱

I think he’s at the point in his career where he doesn’t have to give a flying fudge what people think of him. And if he considers killing animals to eat wrong when it’s not even necessary thereby making a society that does that less ethical or even moral then he’s voiced his opinion on the matter and that’s that. A very large number of people in India (and elsewhere but not as familiar with those cultural taboos).
The bean jacket is cute but could be seen as a marketing ploy or cheesy etc. I think a lot of vegans will appreciate the effort though. I don’t think I could make the change even though I do think it’s the more ethical lifestyle.
The argument that is inevitable is that western societies aren’t designed for this, people don’t have access to the right foods and such. Sure and it would be a slow change. But it gets people thinking and (can) start(s) the ball rolling. That’s my takeaway.

Beans and lentils are my go to for plant based protein. I’ve even blended white beans into pasta sauce. Love this!
