      He took the book from his wife and was like “you know Sasha and Malia always said I did the voices better.” Poor Michelle, she was doing such a good job starting them off.

      I don’t respect him for his shitty centrist politics or his war crimes, but fuck if that man doesn’t have charisma spilling out his EARS.

      It kinda lays bare how fundamentally essential cult of personality is to politics. Obama, to this day, is Liberal Jesus.

      I visited the new Obama Presidential Center during its soft opening and I did appreciate that it’s a fairly thoughtful addition to the South Side focused on being a community place rather than just a presidential museum. This library branch had a really nice reading room with a non-circulating, curated collection of their favorite books, and beyond that there’s a public plaza, observation deck, picnic area, playground, basketball court, garden, learning centers, etc. etc. — I’d have loved to have such a space nearby as a kid
