183, counted them myself!
I’ve been getting back to consuming films as physical media these past 5 years and yeah I love it.
I don’t have any subscriptions anymore, I just go to the store and find out what’s interesting, and buy it there.
Sure it can get expensive, but I also feel like I care more about the movie I’m watching this way, instead of being one click away from switching to another one. Honestly the movie industry would be so much better if streaming didn’t exist and everyone bought their movies

The last Blu-Ray I bought was for Ready or Not. Pretty good movie!

I’ve got about ~1450 or so, went through a period of just buying for buying’s sake but I now pick up maybe a dozen or so per year, just my favourites or films that I’m really interested in
Showed my partner and some of our friends Weapons the other day and it was *beautiful*

I have 526 discs in my collection. Portions are DVD and 4K but I’d estimate 200-300 are Blu-ray

I grew up with DVDs, my cousins were the ones who owned the blue ray player. I only have one blue ray: Monty Python and the Holy Grail (which it’s sense since it’s my second favorite movie ever)

“Now, if you recall that whole hullabaloo where Hollywood was split into schisms, some studios backing Blu-ray disc, others backing HD DVD. People thought it would come down to pixel rate or refresh rate, and they’re pretty much the same. What it came down to was a combination between gamers and porn. Now, whichever format porno backs is usually the one that becomes the uh most successful. But, you know, Sony, every PlayStation 3 has a Blu-ray in it.”

Some of these are just 4K but most have at least a Blu-ray. Started recently so I still need to get my numbers up. [https://boxd.it/PLR1g](https://boxd.it/PLR1g)

I have 6 Blu-Rays bought from Queen Video’s closing sale in Toronto. Also have 3 Criterion boxed sets: Jacques Demy, Agnes Varda, and Wong-Kar Wai.

I love, *love* Blu-rays and have a few dozens but my Blu-ray player died and I can’t find anyone who knows how to fix it or a new one at a reasonable price ): If anyone has any tips, please let me know. I’m in South America, if that matters (and I think it does, because I remember it was much easier to find one when I lived in Western Europe).

My only Blu Ray is the Lion King 1994, because it came with the DVD. I never owned a Blu Ray player, only a DVD/VHS combo. Until recently, I still had my old standard definition TV so there was no need.

I got sold of all my physical media (dvds and blu rays) at the pressure of my ex-husband because he didn’t like the space they took up. Mind you, we had plenty of space and for some reason his video games and video game merch were fine? That was in 2017 and to this day it hurts my heart. I miss my dvds. Can’t find so many of those movies streaming
