The Rookie is an American police procedural television series created by Alexi Hawley for ABC. The series follows John Nolan, a man in his forties, who becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The series is produced by ABC Signature and Lionsgate Television; it is based on real-life LAPD officer William Norcross, who moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and joined the department in his mid-40s.

The series stars Nathan Fillion (John Nolan), Alyssa Diaz (Angela Lopez), Richard T. Jones (Wade Grey), Titus Makin Jr. (Jackson West), Mercedes Mason (Zoe Andersen), Melissa O’Neil (Lucy Chen), Afton Williamson (Talia Bishop), Eric Winter (Tim Bradford), Mekia Cox (Nyla Harper), Shawn Ashmore (Wesley Evers), Jenna Dewan (Bailey Nune), Tru Valentino (Aaron Thorsen), Lisseth Chavez (Celina Juarez), Deric Augustine (Miles Penn), and Seth Ridley (Patrick Keleher).
