Paul Feig on AI: “It’s technology literally none of us asked for, but one that billionaires are investing huge amounts of money in to reduce their workforce and raise their profits. We are HI. We are human intelligence. We need to keep living. Keep telling your stories and keep being who you are”

TAX THE RICH AND CHURCHES AND PEDOPHILES
That’s my Mr Poole
AI companies are spending billions on deals with each other, which boost their value.
This has helped twenty billionaires tied to AI add $450B to their fortunes in 2025.
Meanwhile, an MIT study found that 95% of companies using AI haven’t seen returns on investment.

You know who else hates AI? Matt Walsh the right-wing Daily Wire grifter guy.
Nobody wants this. Some of it is useful as a tool but a lot of it is garbage and always will be. A computer only imagines what you program into it. The entire thing is built on a bubble of bullshit.
> “As far as I’m concerned, storytelling is as important as the food that we eat and the air that we breathe,” Feig said. “Today, a lot of us of the storytelling business are being confronted by a rather terrifying technological development: AI. Now, I have my own personal thoughts about this, namely, that it’s technology literally none of us asked for, but one that billionaires are investing huge amounts of money in to reduce their workforce and raise their profits.”
> Feig insisted he wasn’t raising the topic “to be a purveyor of a doom. I’m here to try and bring us some kind of reassurance, because AI is not us. It’s not who we are. It’s who we were years ago, months ago, days ago, hours ago, minutes ago. All AI can do is take what we’ve done, and log in, and scrape it, mix, match it, and turn it into something that seems original, but it’s not original. It’s our old ideas. It’s our old experiences. It’s the things that we said, and wrote, and lived through already. So those things are only what makes us who we are at this moment. Until the day we die, we keep changing. We keep evolving. We have a new experiences, new thoughts, new ideas. We are living, breathing, human beings, who face infinite choices and possibilities.”
I guess no one has “asked for” cure all illnesses and solve the climate crisis then.
AI is yet another tech grift built on a house of cards. The collapse has already started and I’m sure there are quite a few people who are going to make out like bandits betting on that collapse.
Woah the nerd from Ski Patrol said that?
it’s wild to me, as a millennial, that entire fields that we spent years or decades training in are being replaced with AI-generated text blobs that nobody actually reads. like I’m still struggling to wrap my mind around it. and the implications are terrifying either way: either we’re cruising for massive systems failures and lawsuits or the bar for quality is just in hell now. either way it’s not good.
maybe I was just too young and dumb to notice, but it feels like more has changed since covid than the entire 20 years before it.

I swear it’s corporations and the government who are ruining the true potential of artificial intelligence. the things that can be done with localized technology is still astounding and there are ways to make this industry more proficient and eco friendly while keeping the citizens and humanity directly in mind. We are literally on the cusp of the holy grail of technological advancement and the 1% control the distribution and practices of these industries leading to cost cutting, layoffs, cheap outsourced labor and manufacturing all to keep their pockets full while the rest are drained to be poisoned and starved by greed.
It’s pretty disengenuous to say nobody asked for a technology we’ve been fatasizing about for 100 years.
Im just waiting for the Butlerian Jihad.
i mean it’s nice for specifically trying to look something up or organizing things but often for those it doesn’t work amazingly with how many mistakes it makes. everything else is where it becomes actually problematic as it kills art and creates a lot of misinformation with videos and pictures
Paul nailed it
Thank you, Paul! Now can I please have Spy 2???
Who needs AI when we have Paul Feig to make incredibly mediocre movies??
To be clear, any mediocre or bad art made by humans is infinitely better than AI slop
“literally none asked for”
Except for those of us that did! Living in your bubble won’t change that!
Instead of using AI on stupid shit we should focus on medicine and law. That’s where it can make real difference
You go, Mr Kraft!
We also don’t have to agree to it. Many things billionaires wanted us to do didn’t happen- Metaverse being one of the most recent.
It literally has been proven to cost them more. May their pockets continue to empty due to their own greed.
