Caring what internet people say is a bit silly.
Nothing makes an artist look smaller than feuding with a critic.
That guy is a terrible music critic. Do people actually care what he has to say? lol

Musicians need to recognize that Fantano is just a clout goblin and not engage with him. He’s a troll.

This is such a bad look on Fantano and anyone that is really trying to defend him. She thought she was going to die and basically went through her own personal hell, so why shouldn’t she respond when he’s clearly being an insufferable asshole?
I don’t understand this idea that “regular” people can say whatever they want online, but celebrities are expected to not care what anyone thinks and should just allow any random idiot to publicly clown them.

I listened to the album. It was kind of dogshit. The lyrical content came off as pretty dramatic and annoying in a sort of beating you over the head with it kind of way.
The idea that I’m not allowed to have that opinion on a piece of media because she went through personal struggle is really weird.

There’s nothing new here, critics and artists have have been trading shots since the beginning of time. I don’t often agree with Fantano (there’s a lot of better music critics out there with a much wider scope of knowledge) but I also can’t imagine listening to a Halsey record

I know music is highly subjective, BUT……
When you make art and release it to the public, you are opening yourself up to public criticism. A personal, painful, emotional journey doesn’t shield you from that criticism, nor does that make your art automatically good.
Finally, i never liked him lol.

This is such an absurd sequence of events:
Fantano has Olivia Rodrigo on for an interview. Switifies don’t like it so they find the old Halsey review and bring it to her attention. She gets upset. Then Fantano further acts like an ass of himself about the review.
Dudes an idiot for acting like that. Swifties exhibit the same kind of tearing women down bullshit they know from Taylor.
