I have a terrible feeling they’ll never find her body. I hope they do for the sake closure and comfort for her family, but this whole case is very strange.

      >A note sent to media outlets connected to the disappearance of [Nancy Guthrie](https://www.cnn.com/2026/05/12/us/nancy-guthrie-missing-100-days), mother of NBC “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie, said she had died, multiple law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation told CNN. It followed a first note that demanded a ransom of millions of dollars.

Not to be Strunk & White at such a tender time, but what’s going on with the grammar here?

    3. unfortunately figured this was the case when Savannah and her siblings released a video asking for her return for they could celebrate her and have closure. my heart hurts so badly for them.

    4. This is probably true, but tbh, it’s not clear the emails are actually real. It sounds like media outlets have been receiving emails that could be from someone connected to the kidnappers, or could be from randos

I think basically, the media have been sitting on these emails because authorities asked them to just in case, but Harvey Levin spilled the beans, so they’re now they’re free to report that the emails exist. But no one knows if they’re legit

I live not too far from where Nancy Guthrie was. While it is very tragic and horrible, this whole case is very strange.

This has been such an upsetting case just from the beginning, but I am also unfortunately not surprised at all if this is true. That poor lady had health problems and was without her medication. Breaks my heart to think about it all.

    7. This is literal hell. I cannot imagine the horror this family feels. My heart breaks for them. What an absolute nightmare!

Someone explain how this could be true. It makes no sense to me that a note would be sent by the perpetrators confirming her death. Doesn’t a kidnapper want money? Wouldn’t they keep the idea open that she is alive in order to get maximum ransom? 🤔

    9. I really was hoping they could bring Mama home somehow. My heart aches for the family.

ever since i heard the fact that if the fbi is super transparent about the case, that means they don’t have jack shit to go off of.

the fact that we’ve known everything this entire time could only mean that they had absolutely nothing to go off and it would take a miracle to find the offender. it’s so sad
