I’m old enough to remember when people said the same thing immediately after Jan 6, 2021

    2. Plutos_Cavein on

If he believed that then why would he quit the Republican party now when he could be helping rebuild it?

He quit now because he knows it’s not the end for them, they’re going to do worse shit, and he doesn’t want to be directly tied to it.

    3. GhostofTinky on

Shut up, Tucker. You helped steer the ship into the iceberg. You aren’t allowed near the lifeboats.

    4. Lol, they still support him after attempting to overthrow the government and will of the people. It’s a cult and dear leader can do no wrong in their simple minds.

    5. Apprehensive-Tip8212 on

Tucker is just another far right bastard, trying to wiggle his way into politics. He knows the moment Trump is gone and I mean gone from this earth cause I don’t think he’s gonna make it to 2028. It’s gonna be a power grab frenzy with the party breaking up into multiple factions trying to hold on to the power that Trump somehow has within the party.

    6. Some Americans are still cheering on the Confederacy.  I somehow don’t see MAGA dying a quick death.

    7. Canadian-and-Proud on

It’s Trump’s last term and he’s in for 3 more years. Not sure what this moron is blathering on about

    8. Trust fund Tucker jumping off of a sinking ship.

Fuck off you walking boat shoe, you played a large part in enabling trump’s rise

    9. GladVeterinarian5120 on

Which is another way of saying there was no coherent there there. MAGA was only Trump. Policy was whatever Trump, and not because of anything other than Trump said it. The fairy tale of the Emperor’s New Clothes comes to life in all but the smallest details.

Here’s a policy: get the most enduring of those old fables back into the grade school curriculum. Also put it online as a collection of public domain resources and to hell with the publishers.

    10. MAGA and the oligarchs that back it are just the latest iteration of the Confederacy -> 1933 Business Plot -> 2009 Tea Party, etc.

Their type will be around as long as there are self involved narcissists allowed to participate in government, whether voting or holding office.

So crazy that the movement he helped create (or at the very least fostered along happily) has no future.

    12. The Russian funded mouthpiece says what?

One of the key clowns that helped create this monster and all of the sudden, REVELATION!!

    13. treypage1981 on

Hate always has a future with ignorant people. Most Trump voters DGAF what happens, so long as the people they’ve been told to blame for their problems are targeted by the government and they can buy as many guns as they want, whenever they want. Nothing else matters to them. The party knows that and is more than happy to give it to them in exchange for their help with showering their donors with more money.

    14. Travellinglense on

Like rats from a sinking ship. What are all these ex-MAGA republicans going to do? Be independent or form their own party?

    15. AsteroidMike on

On paper that sounds “great” but I’m not sure how much faith I got in one of the guys who had no real issues with him before his array of fuck ups.

    16. It’s not just MAGA that has no future… it’s the (R) party that can’t walk things back at this point.

    17. CommercialAgency928 on

MAGA will never stop supporting Trump. There is quite literally nothing the man can do to lose them. He could walk into their houses tomorrow, rape their wives, children and/or mother’s and they’d still adore him.

    18. hillbilly-edgy on

The minority identified as an enemy might change, but MAGA and its bigotry will remain.

Tucker laying his foundation for a presidential run in 2028 – and will settle for a lucrative cabinet post (I am going to guess FCC Chair) when Vance – Trump Ticket wins.

    19. outside-is-better on

He is making a run for President. It’s our job to not let that happen.

We see right through your attempt to distance yourself.

    20. sixshots_onlyfive on

Tucker may be setting himself up to run for president. He’s separating himself from the MAGA crowd.

    21. Extension-Fail-1917 on

As you read this just remember – Tucker Carlson is still russian asset and loves putin and has no problems with russian war against Ukraine and admires putin for that…

Then this fake outrage over iran war. And you know what? Because iran is russians closest ally. They supply drones and missles to russia. So when Trump attacked Iran in the eyes of russian agents and supporters like MTGreen, Carlson, Owens and others he attacked also their russian owners.

Yes, its this crazy. I guarantee that if Trump would invade Greenland or other European country they would not care this much to disavow him like that.

    22. Natural_Field9920 on

When the reckoning comes Tucker will be right next to Trump burning in eternal hellfire.

    23. ButtSpelunker420 on

I’m against the war because an imperial presidency is tyranny. You’re against the war because Putin doesn’t like it. We are not the same.

    24. chronomagnus on

They’re all just finally looking for their post-Trump future. None of them just came to some realization

    25. I think we’re seeing early signs of the republican party pretending it’s sane. When it’s clearly not.

What they want to do is bundle up all that disapproval everyone has for them, wrap it all up in a “Trump” label, and pretend that it was only Trump and a few bad apples. Then they can say “wow, sure glad we’re done with *that,* now we’re a great party you can support again!” They’re preparing for a post-trump world, and want to pretend everything that we dislike has magically gone away because Trump isn’t in the white house anymore.

When in the end, the modern republican party IS the MAGA party, and all getting rid of Trump does is give them slightly better grammar when they go on their insane rants and continue to try to tear down democracy and US influence.

    26. Maga is trump, no one else can hold it together like him.

If this ends him or not is a different issue

    27. mrshelenroper on

He couldn’t draw the line at the racism, or the rape, or the 34-felonies, or the fucking insurrection.

Tucker can eat my entire ass.

    28. I mean MAGA has no future, but that requires the exit of someone from this planet first

    29. THAT was the line for him?! Of all the things… so, fucking children, grabbing women by the pussy, making fun of a disabled journalist, stealing billions of dollars, calling a journalist “piggy”, putting babies in cages, calling Canada a threat and making annexation overtures, killing probably innocent fishermen in Venezuela, cozying up to Putin and Lim Jong Un, destabilizing the world order… all that was fine?

What do they put in all that delicious Russian bread, I wonder?

    30. Brother_Farside on

Tucker gleefully helped create the beast. Fuck him and his opinions on anything.

    31. MAGA was always dead after Trump. These guys just see an off ramp now so they’ll be relevant post Trump. If Trump was younger and could get a third term, they wouldn’t be jumping ship yet.

    32. I don’t think so. I’ll believe it when he’s impeached. I live in a state that is to elect an new governor. Both republicans candidates are calling themselves the MAGA candidate and competing for Trump’s endorsement. Apparently they believe MAGA is alive and well.

    33. If only. His cult is so far gone he really could shoot someone on a New York street and their support of him wouldn’t waver.
