Whitney Houston’s estate confirms she fell off stage during the Oprah Winfrey show in 2009 but deny it was due to Whitney being high as Oprah claimed

Whether this is the historically correct version of the event or not—this is what happened.

    2. Her family refuses to acknowledge the addiction that killed her. Coddling her lead to her demise.

Oprah should never have brought this up. No one should know it ever happened but those who have already kept quiet. However I have trouble believing her estate given her well documented problems. I understand why they would want to cover for her and protect her even but I’m skeptical it’s the truth.

And why did we need to know this? It feels as though Oprah is trying to use the notoriety of Whitney and the fact that she was struggling to profit off her

Honestly, I believe them. There is no reason to deny it when they aren’t denying her issues overall, and there also was no reason for Oprah to tell that story with a name drop other than to grab some headlines from someone no longer alive to refute it.

    6. Good for them for speaking up for her. Very well written too. Even if Oprah’s story was the truth, it was disrespectful and unnecessary to bring it up. So I’m choosing to believe her estate. That’s what she deserves.

I think whether she was high or not, Oprah was so nasty for bringing that up. Leave Whitney the hell alone

    8. oprah is annoying like idk what else to say she’s just rude to everyone and the way whitney was treated towards the end of her life really breaks my heart

Can we all agree that Oprah may have started out with a wholesome agenda, but that she has consistently proven that she declined in morality and respect as she’s continued to climb the ladder?

She acts like an ally and a crusader for the voiceless, but then does some of the most underhanded shit and rubs elbows with some seriously questionable people, to say the least.

What was the purpose of coming to light with this now? Whitney has been gone for a long time at this point. All this was meant to do was give her a few minutes of relevancy. Let the dead rest in peace for Christ’s sake 🤢😷

I mean screw Oprah and also why did she tell this story publicly knowing it was something that would have a negative impact on Whitney’s reputation even posthumously? It’s not like there was a “victim” in the situation who needed to be heard, she could have just continued keeping it to herself to preserve Whitney’s dignity.

    11. Oprah is just another really out of touch rich person that will do anything to stay relevant. She has no idea why this would be a bad thing to say, and frankly doesn’t have the capacity to care.

You know what? Oprah can get lost. She’s a friend to Diddy, Epstein, buys up Hawaiian land. She’s gross.

Yea I don’t think Whitney relapsed til 2011 a year before she passed? That’s when pics came out of her leaving events looking wasted. Her performance and interview with Oprah was very clear headed in contrast to interviews in the late 90s-early 00s when she was deep in addiction. She got sober in 06 when she divorced Bobby.

Also her estate is shady, it’s run by her sister in law and brother who were moochers and yesman.

Why is this being brought up? The woman has been dead for 14 years. It doesn’t matter.

Oprah should fade into oblivion. She has enough money.

Whitney is literally dead why even bring this up? She couldn’t even defend herself if she wanted. So mean girl
