      What level of late stage capitalism is it when the Catholic Church starts sounding reasonable? Any history nerds out there with pattern recognition?

      Idek how to respond to this. On one hand, it feels surreal to have the Vatican opining on this but the other hand, he’s 100% correct and no pun intended, thank god someone with a significant platform is taking this position.

      It’s always funny to see which popes become pop culture icons. JPII would also have been covered on PopCultureChat, but I doubt Francis was.

      Never thought I’d end up liking the pope more than the president in my lifetime

      Dang, I’ve almost all but lost faith in most democratic processes these days (mostly because the majority of those involved in politics are so bankrupt)… But they did manage to pick a decent Pope.

    6. strange bedfellows but at this point, I am ready to go around and tell people it’s the mark of the beast with a straight face.
