They did that here in the UK after Barry bloody Scott deafened us all in the 2010s

Stick it to HBO first. They almost ruin my episodes of Hacks with their insanely loud commercials.

The diet guru Jennie Craig had her health ruined from one of these loud commercials. Iirc, she was napping with the tv on at a volume comfortable for her. Can’t recall the commercial but it came on so loud that she woke and snapped something in her neck. That’s why she was in her own ads for a while but after this felt she couldn’t be.

Masterpiece does this too. Not with ads but their intro into every series. Decibels increase so much it’s alarming to me. I try to grab the remote to skip intro but they’re too fast for me sometimes. I love supporting PBS but this is annoying. I feel so first world problems about this but these loud, uninvited noises disturb me.
