Bam Margera’s Parents Share Update on ‘Jackass’ Star Amid Sobriety Journey (Exclusive)

‘Jackass’ star Bam Margera’s parents, Phil and April, chat with ET’s Kevin Frazier at the premiere of ‘Jackass: Best and Last,’ which hits theaters on June 26. The couple says Bam is doing ‘very well’ after years of alcohol and drug abuse. April says, ‘He found his way and I’m happy about that.’ As for whether fans can expect Bam to reconcile with Johnny Knoxville and ‘Jackass’ co-creator Jeff Tremaine after they fired him for violating the franchise’s ‘wellness agreement,’ Phil and April remain optimistic. Though Bam does not appear in the fifth and final ‘Jackass’ film, the couple reflects fondly on 30 years of making the TV series with their son. They share their most memorable stunts and April even recreates her famous shocked shrieks!

    1. Bam, take care of those wonderful parents of yours. You've always been so incredibly blessed. It nearly brings me to tears to see that you finally realize it and no longer take it for granted.

    2. It’s great to hear that Bam Margera is all right after he was getting helped and medically clear to be back on the road and be back in action in this farewell goodbye, conclusion itself, jackass best and last from the beginning from the first movie in 2002 he put an alligator inside of his own home to frighten his parents and then he set fireworks in his parents room to wake them up in the middle of the night and he did it twice with his father’s Truck and he had Chris Pontius inside of a gorilla suit to act like a gorilla by frightening his parents destroying their hotel room that was one of the most funniest craziest pranks I ever seen
      In the jackass Legacies

    3. It's amazing to see Phil and April again as well, and hearing that Bam is doing so well now! Grew up watching CKY / Viva La Bam / Jackass, now I can't wait to see this movie in the cinema.

    4. When April Margera was terrified when she saw the alligator and the gorilla inside the hotel room and the house that’s why she was screaming a lot and those conclusions she was definitely afraid

    5. I know people love to blame Ape & Phil for how bam turned out but look at the older brother Jess margera, . Been married for years with three kids and stable, no trouble. Yeah I’ll admit the parents didn’t show a lot of tough love . But tough love is difficult to give to a loved one even though you know they need it. They did try their best! I love them. Would love to have been their kid.

    6. It's so wholesome seeing Phil excited about the boys making up 🙂 Wish nothing but the best for Bam and his family. Bro was the reason I picked up a skateboard growing up. RIP to the awesome Ryan Dunn too, still think about his crazy ass every once in a while lol.

    7. Something to know is that candida overgrowth produces acetaldehyde, which causes an imbalance of neurotransmitters that play a role in addiction. It can also cause alcohol cravings. Good books to read are End Your Addiction Now by Charles Gant, MD & Greg Lewis, PhD, Seven Weeks to Sobriety : The Proven Program to Fight Alcoholism Through Nutrition by Joan Matthews Larson, PhD along with Get Sober, Stay Sober : The Truth About Alcoholism by Cynthia Perkins, M.Ed. I would recommend reading End Your Addiction Now first and Get Sober, Stay Sober last.
