Every fucking establishment, genocide loving, milquetoast, corporatist Dem should be fucking ashamed every day that Mamdani proves that government is meant to serve the people.

He’s an incredible leader so far, and I hope he continues fighting for justice

      Edit: spelling

    2. Amazing.

Republicans will find a way to hate this but I sincerely hope some of them can see that this is what it looks like to have someone who truly wants to make the country better.

    3. And then the corporate establishment Democratic Party has the audacity to tell the voters that what mamdani wants is not achievable and is unrealistic. They can always have money for the over 600 military basis we have across the planet, money for foreign entities, committing, genocide, and ethnic cleansing, tax breaks for the Epstein class, but when it actually comes to helping the people of this country with things like affordable, housing, education, healthcare, they will always come up with some sort of excuse. I hope we can destroy these establishment Democrats and bringing a new wave of Democrats like mamdani who actually get things done

I’m glad to hear it however landlords will get their money one way or the other.

When I lived in Canada they restricted increase across the board for rentals to max 2% per year. Hopefully we can get to something like that in the future, instead of some people with 0% increases and everyone else with 10%.

EDIT; not sure why I’m being downvoted. I support rent freezes, I’m just thinking long-term, there could be rent stabilization for everyone. If Canada can limit rent increases, why can’t the US and New York. This is a good start to uniformed legislation.

    5. I love this. This energy and all the Ws that DSA/non-AIPAC Dem candidates are getting is going to force the stodgy, corporate wing of the Democratic party to get on board. Love this momentum.

I grew up in the NYC area and moved away over a decade ago due to how expensive it is, away from all of my family and friends…

It genuinely makes me so happy to see GOOD change actually happening in NY for once.

    7. thank god man. adams did everything he could to load and tilt the rent guidelines board in landlords’ favor. good fucking riddance and now i don’t have to stress about renewing for 2 fucking years!!!!

Happy cause I’m in a rent stabilized apartment – my entire building is. But worried/not happy that others who aren’t will be faced with crazy increases to offset. Sigh.

I wish he was my mayor but instead our mayor wants to raise taxes by nearly 20% to get out of a budget crisis 😭😭

Has it not only been ~6 months of this man in office??

The happier I feel for NYC the angrier I get at my own city’s useless politicians…

Every single day he is exposing that politicians could be doing so much more but simply choose not to

The freeze is only for rent Controlled and Stabilized apartments. I live in a rent stabilized apartment (luckily) but 90% of the people in my life do not. I hope that this help change the rents for the rest of the city.

    13. Dems need to find a Mamdani dupe for 2028. This is who we want. A reasonably aged person who actually delivers what they promised.
