Courtney Stodden calls out Dr. Drew: “Dr. Drew had me on his show when I was 16 and had me undergo an ultrasound to see if my breasts were real or if I was lying… These photos bring up a lot of sadness for me because I see a little girl being exploited by grown men and used for views and mockery.”

    1. Yes. Pretends to care about women’s rights but I’ve been hearing for years that he will do anything for clout.

What an absolutely crappy thing to do. I am glad she is calling him out on it.

And yet so many people will continue to say it’s fine for teenagers to date older men. This is why it’s not – they are pressured to do things, often at the time claim it’s fine, but they don’t yet KNOW they’re being used and abused.

you can see the sadness in her eyes in the top photo.. horrendous people. her “husband” should’ve gone to jail, instead he was totally able to exploit her for fame and money 🤮

God, the look of complete disassociation on this poor child. I fucking hate that every adult in her life failed her, but I’m so glad she’s telling her truth.

    5. It’s wild bc she was a child and at the time this was not seen or called out for what it was. I’m glad she seems to have found a good partner and has the lack of internal shame enough to call this out. Put the shame where it belongs.

I have always been so sad for Courtney. I’m so glad she’s finally in a safe enough place to call out about the abuse from those around her and from the media, she was put through so much.

    7. Atta girl. Call them out. Tag these assholes. Shame them publicly. More people need to see this.

I can’t believe grown adults put a minor through this on national television. Not just Dr. Drew but production, assistants, everyone. They all need to be shamed.

Did anyone watch the impact x nightline “I was a child bride” I cannot believe what her reality was. So happy that she is safe now. I hope she never stops loudly calling out EVERYONE who failed her and made a spectacle of her precious young life.

Dr. Drew is an incredible piece of shit, it really makes sense that his career as a quack doctor exploiting people (especially addicts) led to him being a MAGA podcast grifter

Her mom failed her the most. Poor kid. She’s gonna need therapy her whole life

    11. This is child abuse. Fuck everyone involved. So glad Courtney is speaking out about their abuse. It is unreal that not too long ago, everyone was seemingly OK with this.

Just an FYI to people, Courtney is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. Horrific how everyone failed them.

    13. Just a reminder that Chrissy Teigen used her platfrom to constantly cyberbully a child – a victim no less – into considering suicide.

I wish Courtney all the best.

OMG. What was the point of this? Was Dr Drew trying to prove she DID or DID NOT have enhanced breasts? What would that prove? This is so diabolical I don’t understand it.

Instead of persecuting her abusers the tabloid machine was saying “she does not look 16”, and “would you let your daughter do that?”, “16 going on 30”

Chrissy Teigen also bullied Cortney on Twitter encouraging her to commit suicide.

The tabloid/media coverage of their marriage is unbelievable… HOW were there not people calling it out at the time?!? Courtney’s parents have done interviews talking about how they trusted Doug because he’s a “good Christian”…. when will people realize that infinite forgiveness and absolution of sin only protects predators??? also *how* is there still no minimum marriage age in California?!?

    18. I’ve been disappointed in Dr. Drew for a very long time now. When I was growing up in Los Angeles, I listed to Love Line on KROQ religiously. It really was incredible and he always seemed to really care about the callers. Yes, there was a lot of comedy involved with the other hosts, but young people would call in with serious problems sometimes and Dr. Drew was warm, understanding, didn’t seem to be giving BS medical advice, etc. I was actually rooting for him when started getting more famous. But over and over again, he’s proved to not be the person I thought he was. For years now.

Something I find interesting (in, like, a horrible way) is that I was also a teen girl during this time and I totally bought the narrative that she was a willing participant and deserved to be mocked for her “choices”.

I think this was the result of a lot of different factors. But ultimately I think the adults perpetuating the narrative that Courtney was “at fault” were taking advantage of more young girls than just the ones in the spotlight. They preyed on our naivety and told us that the 16 year old was capable of making informed choices and that the old man was just a footnote in the story of this horrid, reckless girl rather than the monster who groomed a freaking CHILD.

I’m so grateful that I was able to break away from that mentality, and that pop culture as a whole has gotten less vicious, but there is so much work still to be done and there were so many casualties along the way. I still struggle with my own self esteem and guilt over my choices, and I was just a bystander. This type of behavior, berating and mocking extremely vulnerable young girls, is both a symptom and cause of a deeply sick society.
