The lady in the pink jersey is Cabo Verde’s goalkeeper Vozinha’s mother. She was first denied the visa for the event but after his son’s brilliant performance in the first match which made him an overnight star, FIFA had to arrange for her travel from their side.
Imagine your entire country’s population fitting into a mid sized city and then watching your team make corks cup history. Goosebumps
If you told someone a month ago that in a group that includes Spain and Uruguay, Cabo Verde would be the one that’s facing Messi and Argentina in a knockout game, they would think you’re insane.
I’ve never watched soccer before but I’ve been loving how wholesome FIFA has been. From this, to different nations coming together and supporting and celebrating their neighbours, it’s been extremely heartwarming.
