Milly Alcock on if Rhaenyra and Alicent’s relationship was romantic: “I think so. Me and Emily always talked about it. We were like, ‘Something is going on. Something is going on… in the Red Keep.'”

    1. It’s written that way in the show and will prob lead to that . Not saying it’s bad but it’s a lot of friction bts because the author and the show runner butt heads as the show runner just has taken full control of the show with 0 input from George now. I mean it’s his job but if you are into the books there’s a lot of debate on line on how the 2 characters are portrayed vs the books

I find royal court impossible to watch because of all the performative laughter and internet speak which is just empty, nothing-filled language.

Bob Odenkirk I think was trying to tell them genuinely that they were all laughing like morons but they just laughed every time he said it.

    3. Crayz how the show is most likely going to make this canon and I can’t even be excited because Condal butchered Alicent’s character in my eyes

I mean if anyone played it that way it was the kids playing young alicen/rhaenyra so this is an obvious answer from milly. their 1st scene together I was like either these 2 can’t act and it looks like something it isn’t or something is being implied here – and hey, by god can both of them act. It’s clear subtext in the show atp, at the heart of it, hotd is the love story between the 2 (and anyone’s free to interpret what kind), and their desparate attempts to go back to being 14 when things were far less complicated and they had each other. while something could’ve happened when they were teens, the show isn’t gonna make it canon with them as adults

I mean if they do, I would personally shake the hand of the producer who decided on it bcs that takes balls, but what we’re looking at here is a tragedy nad implication makes it even more painful. Since they’ve been signaling at it since episode 1, >!either alicent finds herself on dragonstone somehow, or rhaenyra brings alicent with her when escaping (has been forshadowed many times, they story of nymeria of it all, tho jsut as likely it doesn’t happen bcs the possibility of it but never coming to fruition is far more tragic) and in both cases alicent witnesses rhaenyra’s death. Like, the show is basically leading up to alicent witnessing her son kill the one person who alicent ever had any pure love for – would kill for aegon to go you were a shit mom I actually had no beeef with this lady and this is all happening bcs of you btw so now watch her burn!<

I could see it in the beginning. I think their relationship and characters went to shit early on and it’s just a bummer when you see how good A Knight of Seven Kingdoms is.
