Too bad. Disney already had their shareholders approve of their movies for the next ten years. It’s the audiences who are wrong. Disney slop is the only way

No, we really aren’t. We are looking for a better movie theater experience. The current model is just broken because the gap between the theater experience and the home experience is too narrow to justify the massive price discrepancy.

A movie date for 2 is going to run 50-100 at most theaters when you factor in tickets and concessions. My home theater has an 80 inch 4k tv and free snacks. To go to the movies with my girlfriend I have to actively want to spend up to 100 dollars per occurrence for an enhanced experience that is just not worth 100 dollars per instance.

Either come up with a subscription service that allows us to go more frequently or just stop trying to make the movie theater a thing. If you offered me a 20 dollar monthly subscription where I can go to 4 movies a month and only pay for food and all of a sudden the math changes. Now going to the movies on a Thursday night isn’t a 100 dollars question it’s a 50 dollars one. And that is more worth it as a treat.

The movies are fine honestly. Hollywood just feels it’s a movie problem because in order to get us to want to pay the massive premium over the home experience they have to give us a blowout movie that costs 500 million and is advertised as mind blowing. I don’t need a once in a lifetime cinematic experience to get me to the theater. You’re just created a system where that’s the only thing that justifies buying into your broken business model.

    5. Biggest movie of the year is currently Mario 2, and chances Toy Story 5 will take its place……

The Nolan hate is crazy. Dude has been consistently putting out top tier movies. Plus he actually cares

    7. It’s not even that. The industry is pissing on our heads and call it rain!

They just gave up on making quality stuff altogether. We no longer have major motion picture releases! They look and play exactly like direct for streaming releases like Netflix makes.

Budgets are higher than ever, but the product is worse. The lions share is trickling down the top brass of the food chain and barely any of the remaining budget is going to the finished product.

Doesn’t matter if it’s safe or risky, just make a real movie!

Nolan is GOAted. He always has such good instincts for filmmaking and the industry as a whole

    9. You guys notice how everybody famous–EVERYBODY–is telling on themselves all the time?

Is that why audio on Nolan films are almost always awful? Because it would be too safe for the audience to hear what the fuck is going on?

Something new? Is he talking about the actors or the plot? Neither are new.
