    1. We don’t want supercrap. Even doomsday will be a disappointment is my prediction

    2. I wanted this movie to be good but it is clear now that Gunn has no idea what he is doing either.

This movie was just as bad as any Snyderverse movie. So sad.

Probably not wise to give a top writing job to a person who has only ever worked on one small project that flopped in the past. It’s almost as if they wanted it to fail.

    4. Sad. Im still taking my 6 yr old daughter to see it because when I asked her if she wanted see it she said “of course, she’s a girl”. Thats all the reason i needed.

The way people behave as though they are personally offended by this movie’s existence…

it hurts to know we will never get an adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow now because of this dusty brown turd. gutted.

    7. The main issue with the Supergirl movie was not the actors. The film writing was weird, the music choice was bad, and the scenes were either too dark or too yellow.

Like many lines were cliche super hero bs, as if Chat GPt wrote it.

Above everything, my main gripe was how Supergirl and the girl she was protecting had zero connection.

I am usually forgiving of bad Superhero movies, but this missed the mark on many levels.

    8. Supergirl is a C-tier hero, making her the second hero in the Gunn’s DCU to get her own standalone film was a terrible choice. Furthermore to the average laymen, Supergirl is a plucky, happy go lucky, optimistic bombshell. Casting Milly Alcock and having her play a sardonic alcoholic was another terrible choice.

    9. Which is sad because this is a better movie. I hope it’s more due to bad timing with going up against Toy Story 5

    10. I saw it on IMAX yesterday, theatre was only 1/3 full. I thought the film was a good fun movie IMO

    11. Saw it today. It’s a forgettable movie… maybe a C to a C-

They focused too long on the red sun de-powered depression/addiction stuff. They put Kyrpto in danger before you got any back story so you didn’t care as much as you should. Lobo should have been the big bad for Kara or at least fought and they could have thrown in a green lantern for fun. Extra points if the expanded the power ring spectrum and had a yellow or Red Latern – which would have been the shock of the comic book year of off they did.

Missed opportunity to expand into more of world DC lore.

I just left the theater an hour ago with my fiance.

We both loved it. It was a good movie.

    13. I’m sure the movie is pretty whatever at best, but this whole past week has started to just feel like a big smear campaign. Box office numbers have been all over the place for 5 years, it’s not really unusual for a movie like this do not do that well.

Putting my tin foil hat on for a second… Do the right-wing assholes at Paramount (who collectively control a lot of media now) have anything to gain with the upcoming merger, if WB movies keep underperforming?

It’s better than Marvels I’d say, havent seen Morbius. Not really deserving to be a complete flop, but the movie was never going to be a big hit.

    15. I legitimately don’t get the hate or lack of support for this movie. We went yesterday and it was a fun summer movie. I knew it wasn’t gonna be the godfather, absolute cinema nonsense.. It definitely reminded me of movies we used to get in the early 2000s.. and I mean that in a positive way.

    16. A movie has to be really something special for me to go spend 80 dollars to go see it.

Until things even out, all movies are just waiting until they are streaming. Sorry Hollywood.

      I liked it.

Particularly the scene where she said “It’s Supergirling time” and then just Supergirled all over the bad guys.

      Deserved it. Mid movie.

Not the actress’ fault. She’s still a good Supergirl.

“Let’s make our hero an alcoholic and make it have a muted color palette like it’s 2003” – James Gunn

The best thing about Superman was Mr. Terrific so I’m hesitant about Super Girl. Lobo seems like a cool character, hopefully they didn’t mess him up.

    20. Ironically it’s better than those movies in my opinion. I was only able to sit through those two because I was also obliterated drunk at the time

My husband and i saw it today. It was solid. People should give it a chance before they write it off.

    22. It’s honestly a shame if the plot is as good as a Superman.

I’ve heard, besides the actress controversy, it’s just not that good.

Never wanted to see it but I wouldn’t see the 9th iteration of Superman either.

      $68 million worldwide isn’t a total bomb. It’s a disappointment but that’s still a love of people.

Your comments are hidden but I’m sure you have a lot of posts like this.

I hate that Disney’s PR team attacks every single DC movie that comes out like this

    25. It was a bad movie but it was really interesting the *way* in which it was bad. Millie Alcock herself was actually very good in that role. But the script felt like stuffing Guardians of the Galaxy, the Star Wars cantina scene, John Wick, and even elements of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade into an AI model and asking it to generate a James Gunn movie. And then the studio executives swooped in at the last minute and said “Add Lobo”.
