With Lil Nas X’s rehab, recovery, and bipolar diagnosis currently in the spotlight, I wanted to share his incredible 2021 cover of Dolly Parton’s Jolene. I love how haunting and plaintive this version is. He’s such a major talent and I can’t wait to see what he comes out with next.

Literally my favorite cover of this song to this day, I mourn him doing country music all the time and I’m still mad at the idiots that made him feel like he didn’t have a place in the country industry

I love hearing artists renditions. Some, I believe, are more moving than the original; this is one of them.
