This is what I find so funny about Elon. A person absolutely desperate to be liked with enough money he could very easily buy himself into the good graces of some (dumb) people with something like this or solving world hunger but he just *doesn’t.* Because his inability to not be a piece of shit overrides even his desperation to be loved
Nope! To the multi billion dollar bunker with enough food and air just for them and their maids!
He’s actually spot on though. He really is.
That’s a small part of my many issues with Elon Musk. If he wanted to be popular, to be liked, all he had to do was do good things! He could have been revered as a saint, with all sorts of places named after him and such. And instead he cheats at video games.
What Finneas fails to realize is that those who hes calling on to create these solutions would just expect record breaking profits

I genuinely can’t fathom the minds of billionaires, or even those of greedy people, in general. When I imagine having or coming into a lot of money, all I can think of is all the people I’d be able to help….

I’m curious if they’re not receiving the recognition because they aren’t men. Because they’re certainly better examples of philanthropy than their shitty ex husbands(low bar, I know😭)
The mofos creating all the problems, will never be the ones to bring solution! Fear doesn’t come with solutions, it perpetuates the problems.

No shade on Finmeas. He obviously means well and wants good for the world.
Elon Musk was the closest thing to a billionaire attempting this. There is a reason that ended up how it did. It’s cheaper to pretend to help than to actually help and more importantly it’s safer. Trying to actually change the energy infrastructure of the planet or even country means directly threatening the wealth and power of entities that make midevil nobles look like HOA chair people. Entities who have fomented wars, hired mercenaries and killed to protect their interests. The pockets are so deep the money has mildew. They would rather crash the global economy than be unseated and they have the power to do so.
To quote VEEP regarding the oil lobby, “You do not want to fuck with those guys because they fuck in a very unpleasant fashion.”
Also they don’t want to because to be a billionaire you have to be a sociopath.

Used to be a thing (ex: Andrew Carnegie) but rich people today are all uneducated dropouts who barely understand the actual words of the sci-fi books they claim to want realized
Why are these siblings the ones repeatedly speaking out against billionaires who don’t give!? I mean, love their energy; hate that they have to do it, and no one else has the balls to do it too. (I’m speaking celebs of their stature.)
You don’t become a multi billionaire by being a good person and just being a hard worker. Almost every billion-dollar fortune leans on some structural advantage: cheap labor, market power, IP protection, or favorable tax treatment. They are abusers of the capitalist system so they will not do anything to change it.
That’s what I don’t understand
These freaks are obsessed with longevity and biohacking and extending their lives as long as possible
Meanwhile the closest thing you can get to immortality is leaving an honorable legacy
Too bad some of the most powerful people in the world are actively discussing that the world ending will create great companies

In the past like way past, people with money and influence used to create spaces where normal everyday people could either learn or enjoy or do something and in return they would get their names on these buildings and that was their legacy. They don’t do that anymore and that’s why we’re losing so much Spaces for the public.
