THE DEAL: Pop star Justin Bieber and his wife, model and beauty entrepreneur Hailey Bieber, have paid $12 million for a condo in Manhattan’s West Village, according to property records and people familiar with the deal.
THE SELLER: The residence at 160 Leroy Street was owned by real-estate developer Steven Brauser, who purchased the unit for $10.5 million in 2018, property records show. Brauser, chairman and chief executive of Parkland Group, an apartment developer, listed the condo for $12 million in April, according to listings website StreetEasy. He didn’t respond to requests for comment.
THE BUYER: Hailey’s cosmetics brand, Rhode, was acquired for $1 billion by Elf Cosmetics last year. Justin headlined this year’s Coachella music festival, after his latest album, Swag II, was released in September. The Biebers, who have a young son, own California homes in Beverly Hills and La Quinta. They didn’t respond to requests for comment.
THE SPECS: The unit has roughly 2,800 square feet with four bedrooms, according to the listing. It also has six “art walls” and views of the Hudson River.

Over 4k per square foot.
Those windows would be wasted on me. Particularly the side that’s facing the other building. I would have those windows covered 24/7. I don’t know how people do it. I see all these first floor windows all open to the world when I’m walking my dog and I’m just amazed. I could never.

fun fact: at that price you can buy 350 tounhouses along Washington Square Park at the rate one of my friends aunts paid for one in the 70s. I don’t think you could fit that many single family dwellings around it.

I don’t know if the link has more photos (there’s a paywall), but if you ignore the crazy price tag and the bland staging ”decor,” it’s actually decent considering the size and location. If I had that kind of money, I’d get something that wasn’t directly facing another building on one side, but that’s probably hard to do in NYC. I give it a 6.5/7 out of 10.

I always wonder when celebrities buy their 2nd, 3rd, 4th property… do they also keep them staffed whenever they’re not occupied? Do they have someone turn the water on occasionally or control the AC? Do they rent it out or let friends borrow for travel?

That really is an unfathomable amount of money to me, and I then I read her company got bought for $1 billy and dang. It’s almost insulting to the rest of us lol

I’m pretty sure this is the building my husband’s aunt lives in. If it’s like right across from where the trapeze school is, it is. The layout looks just like theirs and while I’ve only seen 2 units in the building, they absolutely do NOT alter their decor much from this. Everything is cream and black or cream and walnut. The light fixtures and some of the furniture can be kinda unique but that’s about it.
I saw the same comments from the Katherine Heigl house. “They make it look bland so buyers imagine themselves in it”. That may be true for the average homebuyer, but for wealthy people, this is just how they live. It’s not some staging trick.
They all use the same architects and interior designers. As in, they fly them across the country to basically duplicate the same aesthetic and refer them to their wealthy friends. That’s why everything looks the same.
The greige trend needs to fucking stop. Where is the color. Where is the whimsy
