Jennifer Lawrence has revealed she almost turned down The Hunger Games because she was content with a quieter life and had always dreamed of becoming a mother rather than a global superstar.
In a candid interview, Lawrence described where she was in her career before the franchise came along. "I had reached this point in my career that was really lovely. I was doing indies, which was what I wanted to do, and I had just finished doing a sitcom where I had a steady paycheck," she said. "I could act but I wasn't very very famous, those people have a normal life."
Lawrence admitted that motherhood had always been her ultimate goal. "I've just always wanted to be a mom, ever since I was little, and so that was always what I was going towards," she said. "And so when I got the Hunger Games, it just looked so different than the original future that I had pictured for myself, which was a soccer mom."

Hearing women talk like this just makes me sad. Iām not against having kids, I love kids, but being a mother to small kids is literally just a few years of your life.
I was listening to Michelle Obama speak recently, and she talks about not giving up your whole self in motherhood and not being too self-sacrificing because your kids will eventually grow up and never think about what you gave up.

I think thereās a clip of her somewhere claiming how groundbreaking seeing a female lead in THG was at the time and it just made me think she really needs a ton of validation that sheās doing something important in life I guess and/or wants to be seen as really famous.
