Rachel McAdams: Hollywood’s It Girl Who Disappeared | Deep Dive

Rachel McAdams became a breakout star in the early 2000s hollywood scene with cult classic after cult classic…. But right at the peak of her career she walked away from everything… all because a major publication wanted her to bare it all.

Thank you all for your patience! I had a major family emergency and needed to take time off but I’m back!

    1. Can you please please please do a deepdive into the Anne Hatha-hate in the early 2010s.
She handles herself so well and has stood the test of time

    2. Netflix wasn't really a thing back then… the company existed but they only had like 900 titles on there and wasn't a popular streaming service yet. The movie was big because of MTV honestly. Lindsay was super big at the moment and all over MTV and tabloids. Tina Fey was very active in SNL at the time too, so that's why it was so popular.

    3. She was raised in St Thomas, Ontario. South of London. She went to Central Elgin Collegiate Institute. I know cuz im from St Thomas and her parents lived here up until about a decade or so ago.

    4. How on earth did she disappear?? Shes had non stop work! (Besides covid) I literally just watched send help and are you there god its me. Shes been in so much! Saying she disappeared is total nonsense

    5. um I love this channel but what? she never went anywhere? I'm not sure if I'll ever watch this because she's never left my lexicon or watchlist.

    6. Im from her town shes from st.thomas not london my uncle is friends with the family and I have two custom rings from the same jewelr who made her engagement ring from ryan there called muscatts its a small shop in town

    7. I literally had no idea about any of the drama or her being "gone" 😮 but on another note that nobody cares about but me and probably Lacey Chabert, you completely butchered her last name lol. It's pronounced Cha-BEAR with the emphasis on the second syllable. Sorry but I used to be a massive fan of hers from her Party of Five days, I even wrote her a letter once (she didn't write back but I still adored her) so anyway it just irked me a little. Now back to our regularly scheduled program!

    8. interesting way of showing the seedy underbelly of hollyweird. they all bang each other behind the scenes, and RG is clearly a creep in this old school tradition, in terms of how much the "clicked." Bravo!

    9. I (cautiously) think I've just found a modern day actress to look up to! This woman seems to have a personality and a talent! I didn't follow her career, but now I think she's someone who deserves respect and admiration.

    10. 19:12 "bad in the dallies" should be "dailies" as in "daily." Shooting on physical film, the negatives of every work day would be sent out and printed overnight, unedited, to be watched by directors/producers/whomever the next day after work. It would be a ritual to watch the dailies to see what they actually shot, as there was no instant video playback.

    11. 4:04 I love this movie. ITS ME JESSICA , IM IN HERE🤣🤣 9:46 this movie was also released on my birthday in 8th grade, you bet your ass my parents took me to go see it that day as a birthday gift 🤣❤ 11:18 let me correct you though, it was April 30th 2005 🤣 I’ve never forgotten this movie and I know for a fact it was 2005. I literally do not care what google says. I know my grade , I know when I graduated 8th grade and I know my birthday. I swear. If I’m wrong then the Mandela effect is real. Whatever the year doesn’t matter I guess it could’ve been 2004 , it just doesn’t feel right. I’m going to search my old bedroom for those theatre tickets though. I cannot get over this little discrepancy.🤣whatever it was my birthday, now I’m going to need to look up what I did my 8th grade birthday year and for those tickets because BIIIIIITTTCCCCCHHH WHAT?!!!?
