NHS Consultants Vote To Strike Over Pay

“The pay is part of this but this is about having a workforce which gives the public what they deserve.”

The British Medical Assocation has voted to strike over consultants’ pay to “stop the further erosion of the consultant workforce in the NHS”, says deputy chair of the BMA consultants committee, Dr Simon Walsh.

Simon Walsh was speaking to Kate McCann and Stig Abell on Times Radio Breakfast. Listen live every Monday to Thursday, 6-10am.

    1. This was inevitable cos the fuckers want to maintain salary parity – even if it does bugger up their tax liability. Give them 10% and ban tgem from ALL private work for 10 years. Shysters.

    2. "We believe in high quality care within the NHS, but we have been reducing our hours to work privately notwithstanding our high salaries and pensions"

"We can't sustain our work within the NHS (but are happy to find additional work within the private sector to top up our earnings)"

For people who are supposed to be smart, you've managed to find a pretty incoherent and out of touch spokesperson.
