      I don’t see Meta being competitive in AI development at the moment. I can run a really good coding setup with opencode and GLM5.2, so a full open source stack. Other than most people here I think AI is actually useful and it thankfully looks like that it’s not a technology Big Tech can monopolise like they did with social media or cloud.

      despite working at a tech company, and despite the fact they’ve taken AI onboard and integrated it in a specific part of the ‘product’, I’m very lucky that from day 1 everyone was saying that there was a very specific way it is to be used. and it is to be used within the company’s standards to enhance the product, but use within the workforce is very limited. obviously very different as meta is a huge comapny that is trying to get into the business of AI, but the overconfidence was always the wrong move, no matter if you thought you can develop your own AI or you though that it could replace your workforce

      also, what I don’t get, these companies should be at least pretending to administer ISO standards, and AI very much so makes it near impossible bcs you’re using certain kinds of data you absoulutely shouldn’t. like the number of times I get a message on slack from day one asking everyone to use AI less bcs the data issues are huge is apparently not something anyone else worries about…
