Lauren Bennett Had “Severe Reaction” to Medication Months Before Death | E! News

New information has emerged regarding the death of Lauren Bennett. One day after her former musical group G.R.L. confirmed the singer’s death at the age of 36, Lauren’s father Richard Bennett shared a heartfelt tribute to his daughter—that was reposted by her former mentor Robin Antin—in which he detailed some of the circumstances surrounding her passing. “Months before her death, Lauren experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication,” Richard posted to Instagram July 7. “As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her.” Lauren was confirmed to have died on May 29 in Meopham, Kent, in the United Kingdom, according to coroner records obtained by BBC News. The Kent and Medway Coroner Service is conducting an investigation into her death ahead of an inquest to be held in October. Bennett began her music career in Paradiso Girls, formed by Pussycat Dolls’ Robin Antin, in 2007. She pursued a solo career after Paradiso Girls disbanded in 2010 and was featured on LMFAO’s hit 2011 track and CeeLo Green’s “Love Gun” in 2010. Bennett was ultimately recruited for another girl group founded by Antin in 2012: G.R.L. (Girls Rock Life). G.R.L. broke up in 2014 after member Simone Battle died by suicide at age 25. The surviving singers reunited months later to release their single “Lighthouse” in honor of Battle before officially disbanding in June 2015.
