There were a lot more comments attacking Zoe before she responded but you get the idea.

Crazy people. But because I am a nosy bitch but not interested enough in Taylor Swift to know…who didn’t she invite? Who’s going to be the next plot point?

its hilarious how all the swifities are saying she has mental health problems, like my dudes you are literally obsessed with a billionaire in an absolutely terrifying way lol

I don’t recall Taylor ever asking her fans to stop online bullying other celebrities. Unless I’m wrong, that says a lot about her.

The irony of commenting about mental health when these stans are actually unwell

I think she absolutely loves that her fans act like this, which is why she’s never said anything about it. Her fans are her army.

Good for her for not backing down. Taylor’s fans are completely out of control.

    9. Mostly reeling from reading “mental health support is free on most insurance plans.”

I don’t know who Zoe Kazan is but she is so brave discussing this fast food artist’s life in public. I would be too scared of this rabid fandom.

She likes it and if the behavior of her fans really bothered her she would at least say something. The swiftes who take their liking of her too far are responsible for their own actions, but Taylor is also responsible for saying that she isn’t ok with that behavior and doesn’t want it done in her name/honor, but she doesn’t.

Taylor can’t even denounce her music being used as the soundtrack to fascism. The bar is in hell.

It must be utterly exhausting to be this parasocial. A psychologist can write an entire book based on a study of just the Swifties. Other fandoms are bad too, but hers is absolutely the worst….and she encourages it.

    14. Swift fans love projecting like it’s a lost art. Obsessing over someone who doesn’t even know you is straight up mental illness

    15. TheTastyLore on

Her fans are the worst. They just throw around threats and say things that don’t even make sense.

    16. cakedayloanofficer on

Holy moly. I don’t support doxxing but damn if those fans wouldn’t face consequences should their workplaces see this. Absolute bottom feeders.

Too bad they can’t aim their vitriol at the MAGAs, abusers, and apologists that were at the wedding. Such a lost opportunity to use their powers for good.

It’s telling that she doesn’t say a word about how her fans behave. She can’t control them of course, but letting them know that how they act when people say the slightest thing critical might make some of them think

I had a best friend dump me because of a comment I made about being neutral about Taylor Swift’s music to a mutual friend who’s a fan. This person pretended to be okay with me, and very much wasn’t.

Another Taylor Swift fan lied about me to get me fired from my job. This fandom suuuuuuuuucks and so do a lot of its individual fans.

Imagine being called “mentally unwell” by a godddamn swiftie lmao

    21. >Bitch mental health support is free on most insurance plans. Take advantage.

Spoken like someone who has only received an insurance-covered quality of mental healthcare…

I fully believe she likes it. As far as I can remember, the two times she’s made statements about fans taking it too far was at an Eras tour stop before Speak Now Taylor’s Version dropped (and John Meyer already being flooded with threats and harrassment) and in her “Top 100 Songwriters” interview. Both times she merely described it as swifties being “weird” and her direct statement to call them off was “I don’t need you to defend me” which is just, so insidious. Fully reframing the situation with her as the victim. Not her exes having insults/death threats being spammed to them and their families, not the journalists who have been doxxed, not Joe Alwyn after swifties made ai deepfakes of him being verbally abusive and passed it off as real, not Matty Healy who was spammed with deepfakes of him overdosing (despise Healy but that was disgusting). It is very reminiscent to me of Trump saying “Proud Boys: stand back and standby” during the 2020 Presidential Debates. Then Taylor immediately played her other victim card by bemoaning “stop paternity testing my songs. You’re centering my music around men. I keep the muse secret for a reason.”
I also remember when Michael J. Fox released a statement asking swifties to stop sending him ableist hate after he took part in a joke about Taylor’s dating life (a joke in poor taste but certainly not necessitating this) Taylor made a statement assuring swifties that Michael had privately apologized and literally said “thanks for having my back.” Woman knows about it, loves it, and eggs it on.

“you are 42 is this really how you’re spending menopause?” swifties not beating the raging internalized misogyny allegations. i thought mother was a feminist??

Zoe breaking a generational curse by standing up to HUAC. Respect.
