I have zero sympathy for Egypt. They played a disgusting dishonest gane against Australia, no doubt the ref watched that and didnt give them the benefit of the doubt, if you have a reputation because of poor behavior then you must be ready to deal with the consequences. I dont like var, but anybody that knows football knows those were the right calls.

He’s having so much fun in the role as the only American politician who knows ball

They weren’t. The behaviour of the Egyptian coaching staff and some players has been shameful. Falsely accusing racism to get the match abandoned, fans changing the refs wiki to say he’s a French Jew and blaming Zionism . Baseless claims of match fixing. Truth is they shat the bed and let in 3 goals

    4. Egypt’s team showed zero class previously. The VAR call was 50/50. Argentina had a great comeback, and I know its popular to be negative about everything though.

Ok, it’s gone too far now. The one thing I’ll say about the Egypt-Argentina game is that it raises questions about how VAR should work. Should there be a limit to how far VAR can go back to review a foul? The foul was considered to be part of the same play as the goal, which is why it was disallowed. And yes, Argentina benefited from a similar situation against Austria but that would seem like less of evidence of a conspiracy, and more evidence of different refs officiating the game differently. Which shouldn’t be the case but that is how it is until IFAB cracks down harder.

Anyway, Egypt choked in the last 15, they have no one to blame but themselves.

    6. After the first goal they collapsed, lost their shape and all the bite they had in the first 75~ minutes.

The loss of shape allowed Argentinas midfield to push up and play more aggressively while taking advantage of egypts makeshift-tactics, which allowed the second goal.

Once the second goal was in they did nothing to help themselves, again lost their shape and began trying to invite tackles/fouls in an attempt to get a free kick, by the 89th minute they were doing nothing but watching the clock and trying to stop the game.

It sucks for Egypt but they had 79 minutes to lock the game down and deliberately chose to play like headless chickens.

The referee made no wrong calls.

You have to remember Mamdani is an Arsenal fan. So he’s used to watching shit football, telling himself it’s beautiful and becoming a victim when Arsenal loses.

Champions of Europe? Mamdani will never sing that.

As much as I like him, I don’t know why he has to join this discussion. It is not related to his jobs, it only brings out the anger from both team supporters. Why?

Not sure about Egypt but Argentina are def getting favourable treatment.

      Egypt choked

VARgentina gets preferential treatment because Messi brings in the money

      2 things can be true

    14. This is mostly irrelevant, but I’m curious. I’m not hating, I just don’t pay attention to soccer. Why is it that they use different grammar than we normally would when talking about teams? Like our normal grammar would say that Egypt is a singular thing, so “Egypt was robbed” or like “Argentina scores a goal”. But when people talk about soccer they say it like it’s plural, “Egypt were robbed”, “Argentina score a goal”

He should zip his mouth about the things that he has zero knowledge about

Oh god, not him too. As a huge soccer fan I’m so tired of all the casuals who tune in once every four years and suddenly act like they’re experts on the sport.

    17. Obviously, they were robbed; you can find their belongings at the Museum of London.

    18. Well Egypt needed a bus to park at the game, I guess it didn’t come in time lol.
