I’m 40. I get that I’m the new demo for marketing but for ffs. Nostalgia-maxxing needs to die.
That’s my rate. I don’t even have to do a good job.
Snow White at least TRIED to do something different, even if the results didn’t quite land, and Rachel Zegler was unfairly scrutinized. You can see the lack of soul in Moana while I think it’s totally okay to scrutinize The Rock.
I’m excited for the animated adaptation.
They air the Marriott Bonvoy resort commercial as a Moana ad on Disney+ and they directly transition from one shot of the movie to the real life resort and my GOODNESS… Real life is 100x’s more beautiful than that ghastly, muted movie shot inside a building. The contrast shows us how terrible this movie is just to even look at. It’s Hawaii, how did you make it look so dreary?!
Do you think anyone at Disney is asking “why” or are they just all shoulders.
I think people are done with the whole live action remake thing. The first couple were kind of a novelty. Now it’s just done to death.
And yet still higher then Supergirl…
The timing of this was just all wrong
These remakes work best if they’re released when the kids who watched them originally are now parents themselves with kids old enough to watch. Like the 7 year olds watching the original here would be 17 now. And hopefully not parents
