The guy is so clearly Norwegian. He was never going to play for England.

why is this even a question lol he’s not english/british (citizenship wise) – yeah he was born here but we don’t do birthright citizenship and regardless he grew up in norway etc.
edit: apologies all i wasnt aware of fifa’s eligibility policy with country of birth etc! (i grew up playing tennis ITF and all and am more into it ofc compared to football so was going off the usual citizenship policy used in tennis tourneys)

He doesn’t need to explain it, his face explains it all.

Homeland loyalty is a big deal to Norwegians. Even if he’d lived in England for 20 years, playing for anyone else but Norway was not an option.

I remember four or five years ago people saying he should’ve picked England because he won’t have much success with Norway. Now there’s a possibility that the Norway team beats England in the World Cup to advance to the Semi-Finals.

Why don’t you play for England

The only fun fact I needed to know was his dad played for the Norwegian national team. Like no brainer.

Whoa.. this is the 1st time i’ve heard him speak and i genuinely had imagined his voice would be similar to the interviewer’s deep voice. And his voice is actually adorable!

To non football fans confused by the question. You can choose to either represent the country you’re born in or you can choose to represent the country of your parents or grandparents. Technically speaking, a football player could have five different countries from which to choose from to represent. You can remain undecided at youth level, but need to have chosen a country to represent for senior levels at which point you cannot reverse that decision. You play 1 game for Nigeria at senior level, you play for Nigeria for the rest of your career.

His family is from Norway, so why play for England?

I am 75 percent Irish/English and know damn well which team he should be playing for, and it’s the correct one.

He’s such good person to point when discussing someone being comfortable in their own skin.
I had female co-worker comment on his lips and how it adds this is strange sexiness he has. What she said floored me, “I bet French kissing him also includes Spain.”

This kid sounds like a really good human being. I have a hard time not cheering for him.

look at the man, he’s representing Norway because he represents Norway!

It’s funny because no matter what he chose, half the internet would’ve told him he picked the wrong country.
