Living Alone in Hokkaido 🇯🇵 | An Early Summer Weekend in Sapporo With My Little Niece
I spent an early summer weekend in Sapporo with my little niece.
After living between Sapporo and Yokohama for several months because of work, I’m slowly getting back into my life in Hokkaido. This day started with a homemade Japanese breakfast, then I spent the day playing with my niece at Sato Land, a large park in Sapporo with animals, bicycles, and places for children to play.
In the evening, I cooked a simple dinner at home: somen champuru, an Okinawan-style stir-fried noodle dish, and myoga wrapped in prosciutto.
It was a busy but peaceful summer day with family, food, and small moments that made me feel happy to be back home.

Hello Bocco. Congratulations on the new job! 🎊 Using your existing experience and learning new things sounds good. But please make sure to take care of yourself and relax enough. Working two jobs and creating content for Bocco-day can be a lot of work.
Investing can be quite tough. The longer you are into it, it sometimes feels like it's rigged. I'm also worried about the weak yen and the yen carry trade. I really hope the BOJ manages to strengthen the yen.
Sato Land seems like a wonderful place. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it as a kid. I still would. 😄 Seeing all the animals and learning about agriculture is great. And the adults in the back are doing all the footwork 😅💦
You are drying washed vegetables just like me 😂 There should be playing "Shake it off" by Taylor Swift in the background everytime when we dry vegetables like this. 🤣
I'm really curious about myoga and the bitter melon. I love cooking and it's really interesting to see you cook and try new things. I still couldn't manage to get some shiso leaves, but I found a supermarket which has Japanese specialties. It also has Sapporo beer, so I'll definitely be back. 😄

Scrape out as much white pith from inside of bitter melon as possible, then soak melon slices in salted water for 30 minutes before cooking
This step will reduce bitterness

حالا من یک پشنهاد. خربزه تلخ در آب جوش بریزید به مدت 10دقیقه بعد از آب جوش خارج کنید تلخی آن هم می رود البته نمک هم بزنید

It's great to see a new Bocco video ❤ looking beautiful. I like making meals too, but I have never made meals quite like yours before. Just Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, German, and Chinese. I've never had Japanese unless a restaurant in Fresno counts. Your omelet looked good and so did your later meal. I'm glad you get to spend time with your niece. I use to drop by a town on the way home from college over 20 years ago and I would visit my sister and my baby nephew. Time flew and now he's over in West Virginia and in the military, so spend time as much as possible because plans change. Love you Bocco, have a great time and I can't wait to see you again ❤

I finally found Asahi super dry beer here in Omaha. I really enjoyed it – very good. Kind of weird though… drinking Japanese beer in Omaha that was made in Italy!

But ya, everything here is taxed so it takes a lot of time 😀 i never tried mentaiko, but the omlette looked super yummy! I am sure Grandmother will always be there for you if you need her Bocco. Parents are always happy their children don't need them, but they also miss them needing them too. Keep that in mind if you need your grandmother's advice and wisdom.
