As fans of her “Pretend Cooking Show” know, Jennifer Garner is no stranger to the kitchen. We invited her to make Nashville-style hot fried chicken, a recipe adapted from the chef Rodney Frazer of Peaches HotHouse in Brooklyn, with Melissa Clark. As they dipped and fried, Garner talked about acting, her love of food and that time she bravely made an Ina Garten chicken recipe over Zoom — with Ina herself.

    1. Can someone please tell me how Jennifer Gardner still looks like her character from alias? Can we all say that she’s the female Paul Rudd love you, Jennifer. Also, really cool that she’s taking up cooking which is my biggest hobby. Knew I liked that lady.

    2. I lost it when she said Peaches from Brooklyn, I've been to that restaurant so many times and the food is spectacular. Never thought to ask for the recipe!

    3. Omg this was such a delight. Both of them are. To know that Jen has been watching Melissa and enjoying her content and then to see her cook with her with a smile on her face is such a beautiful moment to witness and the chicken looks so good. Looking forward to seeing Melissa showing up on Jen's show and making the little men bread and fried chicken hehe

    4. Got 5 pounds of chickie drums in the freezer and this is their destiny. 😋Also, I see my cabbage and corn and tomatoes and daikon as supporting characters…clearing out and using up all my kitchen bounty. Fixin a feast for days! 🌞Thanks NYT's Cooking and Jen and Melissa for this delightful inspiration/motivation.

    5. Sorry NYT Cooking but the video suffers from too much banter. It is unclear whether your guest truly learned something. Please more emphasis on the cooking and less on stargazing. Melissa Clark's cooking and baking are always very instructive. Thank you

    6. jenn's the best! finally a real cooking show you can segway to.. haa! you both are aweesome! and, that chicken looks and sounds amazing!

    7. Too bad that the "free" recipe isn't available for printing. I would have given this a thumbs down because of this omission, but YT has taken that option away! Yet another form of censorship.
