Rick Tried to Steal Alien Tree Sap… Then Nature Trapped Him in an Evolution Prison
In Rick and Morty Season 9 Episode 7, Rick and Morty head to an alien jungle planet for what Rick thinks is just another easy mission. His goal is simple: steal a rare and valuable tree sap.
But Rick treats the planet like free loot, not a living ecosystem. He walks straight up to a massive ancient tree and prepares to take what he wants — until the tree reveals itself as The Warden, a conscious tree god that protects the natural order.
The Warden sees Rick and Morty as invaders who disrespected life itself. Using giant roots, it grabs them, pulls them underground, breaks down their bodies, and sends what’s left of them into a hidden biosphere prison.
When they wake up, they aren’t human anymore. They’ve been reduced to single-celled organisms floating in the water. Even worse, they discover this place is full of other trapped creatures who also tried to steal the sap.
The rules are brutal: eat, evolve, survive — or die and restart from the very beginning.
Rick quickly realizes the prison works like a sped-up evolution simulator. If they keep consuming other life forms, they can evolve from single cells into fish, reptiles, birds, mammals, and maybe eventually back into something human.
Rick treats it like a system to hack. Morty sees it more like a nightmare full of trapped living beings. They evolve, die, restart, grow legs, grow wings, and try to escape — but The Warden’s control is everywhere.
What started as a simple theft turns into one of Rick and Morty’s strangest survival games ever.

Do I need to watch Rick and Morty in order or is it like family guy where can watch any episode whenever and not get lost?
How are people watching these episodes before they even come out on Hulu?
One of the better episodes this season, this and the one before it, other than those two the rest of the season has been disappointing as usual for Rick and Morty post season 3.
Season 9 has been so gas negl, finished it yesterday and GODDAMN was the first episode a treat. For the most part it's been oddly wholesome, mainly in Rick which was very strange to see
What episode is this?
Episode name?
First kungfu now a tree with a whole world under it

Damn I can’t get over new Morty’s voice. Rick sounds close enough to pass but Morty is so obnoxious.

I was so happy they made that Bat Joke, since bats have genuinely amazing eye-sight, plus echolocation.
It was just an overall good throw-away line.
