Im watching Trying, its a really sweet family freindky TV show about adoption, its from the uk but I think its on anerican streaming. It’s a good watch and positive, which is rare in today’s TV landscape.
I know a lot people assumed the adoption was familial but this sounds like it wasn’t. They could offer money and have all the resources so they got picked quickly.
Adoption is just so currupt in America. Happy the baby has the best family possible but it’s essentially just buying a human. Private domestic adoption brings in something like $20 billion annually.
That’s a really sweet way to say that. And a really nice thing for her daughter to hear when she grows up. I’ve always rooted for her. I’m so glad she’s well adjusted, and seems happy.
My aunt who adopted one of her kids had a framed poem with the same message. “Some children grow in their mother’s stomach, but you grew in my heart until I took you home.”
Anyone saying anything negative is super slow. What was she going to say? , “One through your heart and the other through your vagina or stomach via c-section.” hahahaha. Like what she said made sense for adoption and for her.

People say babies grew in their bellies, tummies, stomachs, etc, it’s not a new turn of phrase at all. Baffled how people are confused by this.

Wholesome moment. That phrasing is very common in the adoption community. I’m assuming that’s why she phrased it the way she did.
there are alot of things that could be better about the adoption process, but the intent of her words here are super sweet. all babies deserve unconditional love and MBB clearly loves her child
As a woman who’s father was adopted and is adamant about adopting children to honor him, this is the most beautiful way to put this and I love it.

this is sweet as hell no matter what! this is how any person who becomes a parent through any other means should, ideally, feel about it. whether a step-parent, adoptive parent, guardian, whatever—that this kid was had through the heart.

Downvote me all you want but I’m saying this as someone who seriously looked into adopting a baby. The truth is:
There’s not enough unwanted babies (2 years and younger) for all the people who want to adopt babies. So the options are either go to an ethical, transparent, not for profit agency where you get vetted and would wait for many years to finally maybe get matched with a baby or pay tens of grands to a shady for profit private agency who at best push closed adoptions and cash for baby on vulnerable desperate people and at worst might be kidnapping children from the global south.
Millie was a 23 year old who had just gotten married, I know she didn’t go to the first option.
There are a lot of older kids though stuck in the foster system who need a home. I hope to one day be able to foster.

I’ll just say that adoption is really, really hard to obtain for most parents who want to go this route and I do have some questions about how Millie pulled it off at such a young age (I guess it’s international). Obviously she has the means to take care of the adopted child, but so do many, many parents who aren’t able to for several sometimes illogical reasons.
Idk I just have a few infertile friends that have enough money to give a child a wonderful life (and they’d be cool with older ones too) and the price is just waaaaayyyyy too high or the wait time is just waaaayyyy too long. It’s frustrating, and I know Millie can’t do anything to help my friends lol. I just wish my friends could have what Millie has, I guess. And technically speaking, it would be through your heart and wallet.

As a child, my best friend was adopted and her mom said this to me when I was about 4 years old. So I turned to my mom and told her my Barbie was adopting twins!
