John Leguizamo on fighting for Latino representation “It’s always been a battle. Hollywood is not the most accepting place. Even though we Latin people are 30% to 40% of the box office – and a third of streamers — we’re the most aggressively underrepresented group in America.”

Oh we’re represented. Just in the most stereotypical, side character, comic relief ways. I agree with his sentiment overall, but I’d rather *good* representation over plentiful one.

    2. It feels like Latinos get one movie a year where they are the subject/focus. I do feel like there are more Latino actors, but there aren’t many stories.

More underrepresented than SouthEast Asians and Native Americans?

John, I love you, I need to see the data on that one.

Nah, unless its terrorist 1 to 99, middle eastern people are the least presented group. He’ll i think I have seen more Indian actors play middle eastern characters, than middle eastern ones.

    5. He’s right. The lack of shows and movies with lead Latino characters is embarrassing. Has been for decades.
