NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined inmates at the Rikers Island jail to watch England’s World Cup semifinal against Argentina. The watch party was part of a program for prisoners rewarded for good behavior.

At some point, he or someone like him will be in charge of the country, and I genuinely hope I live to see that day (I’m 30)

At this point, I hope he keeps going with creating DSA candidates till one of them becomes president.

But you also need Mamdanis in school boards, county clerk offices, judges and sheriff’s.

    5. I love this man so much 😭 I don’t live in New York but it’s a privilege to see someone who truly cares. My mayor!

He’s so fucking good at this. It kills me that he can’t be president. A generational political talent

Is it me or does that prisoner he first spoke to looks like Pedro Pascal?

When was the last time an NYC mayor went to Rikers to bring this kinda of humanity to the people there? His emphasis that those held there are still New Yorkers, still deserve to enjoy the world around them, still deserve respect. This kind of dignity is inspiring.

One of the things I think that draws many people to adore Mamdani is the fact that he puts in effort. Nowadays, it feels like politicians (and many adults) cannot even be bothered to do the basic performative gestures that show an iota of effort or commitment to a cause. It feels like a bit of a throwback to the old-school style of politics where politicians tried to act like their position was thanks to the people and that they should serve the people.

    12. He is so fucking awesome man, and not fake at all just a genuine and fun to be around dude

Did anyone catch Mike Johnson recently lecturing and scolding Americans for electing people like Mamdani? Seriously fuck these out of touch politicians.

if you guys want a good president, you may need to abandon the whole “nah wasnt born here” bullshit. but i understand too, that any small amendment to your “constitution” (no one fuckin follows anyway), leads to a zombie communist attack. is he not a citizen? is that not enough for you racist cucks?
