God, that is terrifying. I remember her from Growing Pains and random stuff in the 90s, and I’m glad she’s continued to be successful as a voice actress and is part of the Critical Role/D&D world now.
if anyone’s curious, this is from her podcast with taliesin jaffe called weird kids. i’ve only seen a few episodes of it so far, but they go into a lot about what it was like growing up in the industry. i highly recommend.
ashley’s had a hell of a life and i genuinely just want to wrap her up in a blanket. taliesin, too.

I cannot relate at all to growing up in the entertainment industry, but yet Weird Kids are my people. I also relate to the dark humor of laugh-tracking your own story of being kidnapped.

That is so wild!!! I’ve always been a fan of Ashley Johnson, I’ll have to check this pod out!
The older I get and the more I learn, the less I want to ever become famous. And as if being an adult celebrity isn’t scary enough, the things that a lot of child stars go or have gone through… She talks about it so casually, but I’m sure it must have been a terrifying moment for everyone involved.
She’s also the VA for The Last of Us video game. Also played as her mom in an epsiode.
