Ben Affleck secretly built an AI filmmaking company that Netflix bought. Is AI becoming Hollywood’s biggest creative partner or biggest threat?
They could have funded dozens of low or mid budget original films and maybe got a hit or two. Much better odds of ROI than just blowing half a billion on AI. But I’m not some smart CEO i guess

well they have $82 billion just sitting around after the Warner Bros deal got blocked, so now theyre just going around on a shopping spree

Unreal that Ben would be involved with AI or that Netflix would just blow that kind of money on what is sure to be not what they promised.
I cannot believe that price. Unless you’re buying server farms ai is going to be make feature length films on consumer grade PCs within 5 years. Even with the component pricing surge.

If Jaws had been made with AI, AI Bruce the shark would have worked 100%, featured massively, and the film most probably would have been shit. AI smooths out problems. Humans need problems. Conflict. Friction.
