Craig Melvin has spoken out to ensure fans that he is safe following an incident with an unauthorized intruder on the set of ‘Today’ July 16. In an Instagram post shared the same day, the news anchor wrote that he is “doing just fine,” and that he is “looking forward to seeing [everyone] tomorrow morning.” According to reports from multiple outlets, the suspect in question was able to access an area close to the studios for ‘Today’ while asking for weather anchor, Al Roker. Upon encountering Melvin, the suspect allegedly lunged at the 47-year-old and called him a racial slur. In a statement provided to E! News, the New York Police Department has confirmed that the intruder was arrested and that no one was injured. Stay away from bad people doing stupid things that they are not supposed to do im glad that he is okay
They charged him with things like menacing, and a few other things but charged them under a hate crime. If the guy was going after a white host then it would be just what he was charged with no racial charges. How is that fair? If it had been a black man who was arrested then hate crime wouldn't be mentioned because the suspect would be of the same race. Now for those who don't get much of anything like what privilege really is, this is a good example of who is privileged and who isn't. Stop believing things that make no sense and just go by your own observation and thought process, not what some racist person of color has dreamed up.
